Incomewise

Privacy policy

Effective 8 October 2026

In short: your budget (income, spending, plans, goals and notes) stays on your device, and we never receive it. To give you an account, we keep your email address, your name if you give one, and a user ID. Crash reports are off unless you turn them on. We don't track you or sell your data.

Who we are

Incomewise is made by Nomad Technologies Limited, a company registered in Ireland. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

What stays on your device

Everything you put into your plan is stored in a database on your device: your split and buckets, income, bills, debts, spending limits, expenses, goals, money to-dos, notes and settings. It is not sent to us, and we can't see it.

  • Exports. When you export a month or a year, the file is created on your device and handed to your device's share sheet. Where it goes next is your choice.
  • Reminders. Bill and month review reminders are scheduled as notifications on your device. Nothing about them leaves it.
  • App lock. Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint and passcode checks are done by your device's operating system. The app only learns whether the check passed. We never receive biometric data.

A future version will let you keep a copy of your plan in your own iCloud or Google Drive. We'll update this policy before that is released.

What we collect, and why

DataWhyLegal basisKept
Email address, your name if you give one, a user ID, and how you sign in (email and password, Google or Apple) To create your account and let you sign in on your devices Needed to provide the app you asked for (contract) Until you delete your account

Crash reports, only if you turn on Settings > Send crash reports To find and fix problems in the app Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning the setting off 30 days
Messages you send us To answer you Our legitimate interest in helping you As long as needed to deal with your request

If you sign in with Google or Apple, they share your email address and, if you allow it, your name with us. Apple can give us a private relay address instead of your real email. If you use Sign in with Apple, we ask Apple to revoke the app's access when you delete your account.

Crash reports

Crash reports are off by default and are set separately on each device. When they're on, a report contains the error and where in the app's code it happened, the app version, the device model and operating system version, and the screens you visited just before (for example "Buckets"). Before a report leaves your device, the app replaces amounts, email addresses and quoted text (such as a name you typed) with placeholders. A crash report never contains your budget, your notes, your email address, your user ID or your IP address.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We use these service providers to run the app, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC): sign-in and the account record described above.
  • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.): crash reports, only if you turn them on. Stored in Sentry's European Union region, in Germany.
  • Apple and Google: if you choose to sign in with them, and to deliver the app through the App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies.

We would also disclose data if the law required us to.

Transfers outside the EEA

Google may process account data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards the European Commission has approved, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it's wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it, without affecting what happened before.

To use any of these rights, email us. We'll reply within one month. You can also complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission, or to the authority in the EU country where you live.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app, under Settings > Delete account, or by asking us. Deleting it removes your sign-in account and account record. The budget on your device stays there unless you also choose to delete it from the device. How to delete your account

Children

Incomewise isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data travels to our service providers over encrypted connections. Your budget is protected by your device's own security, and you can add App lock for an extra check when the app opens.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data in a significant way, we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
